The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday (7 July) recovered 2 bombs from the house of arrested terror suspect Habibur Rehman in Chikkabanavara, that is found on the outskirts of Bengaluru. This raid was in association into the probe of Burdwan blast that occurred in 2014.
Habibur Rahman is believed to be a member of the illegal Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen bangladesh (JMB) and was arrested for his alleged involvement within the Burdwan blasts of 2014.
Habibur Rehman was arrested by a team of NIA from kolkata on 25 june in Doddaballapura.
On 25 June, the NIA had recovered two crude bombs under a bridge near a stormwater drain in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district a day after Rehman was arrested.
As per NIA, Rehman had also travelled to Tamil Nadu where he is believed to have stayed while he was on the run after his alleged involvement in preparing a crude bomb that exploded while being assembled, killing two people and injuring many.
